Gorbachev's position when he implemented his reforms. Perestroika, to name one of the few. Brought out so much enmity towards him, not just from his people, but from the very people he worked with. But his cause was just, or atleast through the eyes of the West. What he did was very much, de-stalinization, de-communisation. Or atleast so that I remember. He was breaking the barrier of Russia towards the West. What for? Maybe for the better of his own people? His actions during his time of power, up til date, is subjected to much debate. Whether it is for good, or for bad. At the epitome of his doings, he earned the Nobel Peace price. The coup'de gras that would say that whatever he did was for good? Yet still, his actions are open to debate.
